Colour Change
After asking Ryan about the original colours (Blue and Yellow) he pointed out that they weren't very relevant to the company. Which is correct, apart from that they looked bright there was no relevance behind them. Ryan has always mentioned that he wants his work to be eco friendly and take advantage of unwanted and recycled material, he also regularly draws this green character known as 'Greedyman'. With this in mind I stripped the colour down to just black white and a bright green. I didn't want to use a dull green as it would look uninspiring and bland.
Revised Brand Guidelines
This green is slightly outside of the CMYK gamut and can only be achieved by using a spot colour. I have managed to achieve this in a cost effective way by using a Berol marker which also gives the print a slightly more handcrafted element which is relevant to the business.
Also, I have laser cut this to feature as a prop during the photo shoot on thursday
I returned to the coin box design, got rid of the original colours and also made it smaller so that it is more in proportion with a finger skateboard, which will also be supplied in the pack.
I also removed the colours and replaced them with the black, white and green.
Web
As a platform for Ryan to start promoting and selling these products I have made a bigcartel that uses that brand guidelines outlined above.
Instructions
With each product we needed a set of instructions so that the buyer can easily assemble the product. I began making Ikea-esque illustrations that clearly convey the assembly of the product.
Other uses for the Skube
Using a grid to maintain order and hierarchy throughout the instructions
This is the finished design document for the instructions
On the reverse is this simple logo poster
Postal
As Ryan is going to be running this himself from now on I designed a simple template that he would be able to fill in for new orders as he receives them.
Brochure - Editted
After showing Ryan the initial brochure he gave me some information that was more accurate and detailed than what I had come up with. I returned to the brochure and updated the information and swapped some poor images for higher quality ones.
We have booked a photography studio for Thursday to take pictures of the printed material and also the chair.
