Bamdoodle: Pitch Routes

Ideas

I am meeting with Ryan on Wednesday and I am going to take with me research and pitch boards to clearly explain to him the initial ideas that I think would suit Bamdoodle. From this we will pick one or two to develop further.

1. Speech Bubble

This was the first concept, which is to house the logo within a speech bubble, this would help connecting Ryan's professional branding to Bamdoodle- which is most likely going to be a stylised drawing of 'greedyman' which is a character Ryan draws a lot of.
The bubble could also be used to interact with other things such as the furniture itself in photograph etc. We could cut a big wooden logo that would sit in-store/ be given to shops for promotion etc.

Similar Examples:

2. Impossible Shape

The name Bamdoodle comes from a combination of bamboozle and doodle

bam·boo·zle

/bamˈbo͞ozəl/
Verb
  1. Fool or cheat (someone): "Tom Sawyer bamboozled the boys".
  2. Confound or perplex: "bamboozled by the number of savings plans being offered".

Building from this definition came the idea to make an impossible logo from a capital B or BD which would look confusing and interesting and would also make a good logo.

Impossible Shape examples:

3. Folds

As Bamdoodle is focussed on a hands on, d.i.y, interactive experience it makes sense for the logo to reflect an aspect of this. Each letter is made of a flat packable net that spell out the name.
This could be made interactive digitally by collapsing and assembling when the user hovers the mouse over the logo. In terms of print we could produce the nets for each letter or incorporate flaps into the logo, breaking it out of 2d.

Another possibility:

4. Building Blocks

As Bamdoodle promotes hands on activity I thought it would be nice to let the audience shape the logo. When used on web the user will be able to click and drag each individual letter and drop it wherever.
In print the logo will appear spelling 'Bamdoodle' as the main "first logo you see" and then any times it is repeated it will spell out silly anagrams of the word.

Big blocks could be procuced as in store display and for photography.

5. Dodo

Building from the anagram idea and the definition of Bamboozle being 'to confuse'  I thought it would be nice to have a logo that seemed completely unrelated, and only makes sense when you're silly and mix all the letters up. Out of all possible anagrams 'Blame Dodo' was by far the funniest. With this concept I am proposing to have a Dodo as the consistent logo for Bamdoodle, accompanying text could either be a standard typeface or it could use the previous idea of jumble-able letters

Quick Mock Ups

This one has too much going on:

Need to make sure it doesn't look too much like a fashion brand rather than furniture.

The type would work better if it were to wrap around the image like this:

This is the most suitable so far, the problem is applying it to the rest of the identity and how will we make it interactive and more playful
