Bamdoodle
After meeting with Ryan last week I had a clearer idea of what would and wouldn't work for Bamdoodle.
I began sketching potential typographic routes the could be explored to create an interesting visual identity for the company.

Using the angles of a chair creates quite an interesting B,
I attempted to use the same grid for the rest of the letters in bamdoodle but it didn't work well

From this came the idea to flip the counters in the B so that the top one is larger than the bottom making an exclamation mark with the negative space
Ryan liked the idea of a speech bubble that could interact with various illustrations and also would fit in well on the furniture itself

This was the best variation of the concept that I drew by hand
I tried making the logo idea digitally but I thought that it looked too static and more corporate than the hand rendered version
Edit
As I was writing this and reopened the document to screenshot the digital logo, I realised it is definitely better than the hand rendered version and makes the hand rendered one look like a bad cowboy boot.
Scans of hand rendered logo:
As the target market for this is skaters I think a t-shirt would be relevant to sell alongside the products
If the logo is flipped and joined together it makes quite a clear skateboard shape, which is fun.
I also think that the digital logo is clearer as a 'B' aswell as an '!'.
Brand Collateral
This is a list of the products that I intend to produce for the branding of Bamdoodle, the photography of the furniture itself with the products I make will also contribute to the finished project
I think a set of stickers will really help tie the whole brand personality together, because we want to create quite an energetic and somewhat hap hazard brand with lots of illustration and formal tone of voice, the challenge is going to be making it consistent.
